Iczelion

Summary: >

Nagisa was an ordinary girl, aside from her aspirations to become a professional wrestler. From a distant world, battle armor known as Iczel approaches her with the proposition of becoming her partner. Nagisa however wants nothing to do with it, however Iczel was followed by the evil alien spawn of big gold Chaos and Cross. Nigisa is then forced to join with Iczel against her will in order to fight of Cross who has decided to toy with Nagisa for her own amusement. It seemed like Nagisa was done for when she was saved by other Iczelions.

The other Iczelions are not too impressed with Nagisa's bone headed-ness. But aren't too worried about it either. They've faced tough opponents before. However this time they may be in for a bigger challenge, as Chaos and Cross have killed quite a few Iczelions across the universe.

And even if Nagisa doesn't want to fight, Cross isn't done playing with her yet.

Thoughts: >

What to say about this title. Well it's really strait forward, but a little bit quirky at the same time. It makes a few novel attempts at character development but mainly is cut short by the time constraints. Yeah, and there really isn't much to say about the story. The designs however are great. I think that the "babes in mecha armor" was pretty close to perfected here. It is therefore kind of a bummer that this series didn't advance any more.

But a part of that is due to the fact that there are only two episodes. While I did follow this series closely, I never really found out what happened with Iczelion. The entire series was just left hanging in the middle, and only somewhat resolved. As such you feel sort of unfulfilled by the lack of conclusion. One can only wonder if this series had managed to fill itself out if it could have been so much better. But judging from the rest of the Iczer franchise it's probably just as well O_o;

But then again many may feel unfulfilled by the lack of plot by this series. But make no mistake that if you want girls in armor fighting this is one title that delivers.
