YOHKO MANO

Fight demons or get a boyfriend? If up to 16 year old Yohko it would be the latter, but her family duty demands otherwise. She's a modern minded girl with little interest in devil hunting, but is swept up in the moment and becomes one anyway. Although often scolded by her grandmother for being a loafer, it seems Yohko does well for herself as a devil hunter. She's prone to oversleeping, and goes crazy over any guy "slightly better than average looking".

ASUZA KANSAKI

Asuza comes from another branch of the family, and is sent to the Mano household to become Yohko's apprentice. Unfortunately Yohko lacks experience herself to mentor her, but does her best with Asuza becoming her sidekick. She may lack strength, but at least she's enthusiastic.

Her domestic skills and familiarity with devil hunting lore suggests she's more traditional than Yohko.

MADOKA MANO

Madoka is Yohko's grandmother and the 107th generation devil hunter. She's serious and very traditionally minded, but is laid back when not on the job.

It's inferred the Yoma ring changes the wearer's clothes to "devil hunting attire", but Madoka sports a ninja outfit instead. Considering her advanced age and the sexiness of the devil hunter outfit that's probably for the best.

HARUKA MANO

The first Devil Hunter, and one of the strongest that ever lived. Each generation of Devil Hunter struggled to fight the most powerful demon Tokima even with dozens of seals upon him, but Madoka fought him to a standstill alone unsealed. Some of his power is contained within the Yoma ring hunters use.

She's serious but has a kind heart, showing regret that her failure to defeat Tokima cursed her descendants to continue the fight.

SAYAKO MANO

Destined to be devil hunter 108, but got pregnant first. Devil hunters are required to be a virgin until 16 in order to succeed her predecessor. This left Madoka fighting demons for another 16 years. Sayako maintains her rebellious side when dealing with her mother, and the two argue a lot. Madoka regards her as an air headed tramp, which doesn't seem far off the mark. She's a fairly normal person, but seems to retain at least some of her martial arts skills.

CHIAKI MANO

The devil hunter lineage ran into crisis in the 107th generation with the birth of twin sisters. Both Madoka and Chiaki trained to inherit the family duty, culminating in a duel to determine the successor. While it was close, Madoka emerged the victor. Chiaki disappeared the next day, taking with her the family heirloom "whip of distraction", and has harbored a grudge ever since.

AYAKO MANO

Born of a line separated from Mano devil hunters, Ayako is the incarnation of the revenge Chiaki harbored nearly all her life. Trained since an early age to reclaim the title of devil hunter in the Mano family, Ayako's skills are something to be reckoned with. Her main weapon is the whip of distraction, taken by Chiaki years ago.

Can Yohko keep the title of devil hunter when challenged by such a focused rival?
