You're Under Arrest: The Movie

Summary: >

Natsumi and Miyuki are back in action, but this time they're going up against a criminal force which just may be too much even for them to handle. At first some rather unusual events started happening... traffic lights going out, finding an abandoned car full of guns... but something was happening, it was just a matter of finding out what it was before it was too late. In fact it seems to have something to do with a special computer disk that even Miyuki can't crack. All of this is leading up to something, and the chief knows, he just isn't talking. The question is can they stop whatever is going to happen before it's too late?

Thoughts: >

Unlike the OAV, the YUA movie is basically supposed to be an action packed thriller. Rather surprising, is how well they actually pulled it off. The amount of work that went in to animating this film defiantly shows through to make for some exceptional animation.

The biggest drawback of this title is that it is basically your formula action movie. So to that extent you could see this being as simple as any Hollywood blockbuster movie. For many people that's just fine, but for anime fans such as myself; we tend to want something a bit different. I mean if we wanted Hollywood action movies, that's what we would watch. There is certainly no shortage of them.

Actually as far as anime goes, I wouldn't recommend this title because it is somewhat linear and doesn't really take advantage of the strengths associated with anime - interesting animation sequences, and uncommon stories. Aside from that it's probably worth watching.
