Master of Mosquiton - OVA

Summary: >

Inaho is descended from a long line of witches. It is from her grandmothers book that she learns the story of a powerful vampire. Inaho takes it upon herself to bind that vampire, named Mosquiton; to herself. While Masqiton is indeed bound to her, and Inaho in love with him, the un-dead vampire doesn't particularly like Inaho's schemes to find the all powerful pieces of the O-parts.

Even more reluctant, are Mosquiton's two servants. But maybe some good will come out of all of this... if they survive Inaho's recklessness.

Thoughts: >

I saw this series in reverse having seen the rather poor TV series before the OVA. Luckily, the OVA is quite a bit better than the TV series. Unfortunately that doesn't mean this title is particularly great, but it does manage to come up to about average. Master of Mosquiton is one of those "check your brain in at the door" sort of fluff titles that is meant to be fun over all else. To some extent it manages to accomplish that, so it's sort of difficult to be hard on this title.

Character wise I must admit that I found Inaho to be unbelievably annoying, and probably compounded by her dubbed voice actress. The other characters are actually quite amusing, especially in their interactions. You see Mosquiton is quite hesitant on all of these "adventures", and Mosquiton's servants aren't very enthusiastic either. The lack of dedication is actually quite amusing, but you could see how that could get old fast. It's a good thing then that this series isn't that long, so it doesn't have a chance to get old, it is what it is.

Animation wise the OVA didn't do to bad for itself, however the opening credits were very badly done. Story wise this title was okay, but certainly nothing deep. Master of Mosquiton is actually pretty decent for a fluff title so I'd score it as average. Mainly recommended for a rainy day when you feel like vegetating and just watching anime.
