Ouch! That about sums up my thoughts on this one. This is a two part OVA series which comes after the first season and acts as a teaser to the second. However it doesn't change anything up and has about the same production quality as the TV series.

I got one good laugh from a part during the hot springs story, but just one. Another story is focused on getting Mexican exchange student Lala to smile. This story had SO much potential but was completely squandered. I do love how Lala uses the iron claw on Imadori, which makes me nostalgic for hearing announcers in pro wresting say "Oh my God! It's the IRON CLAW!". In one point of story development, Yakumo encounters a ghost which is later referenced in season two (just once), but is so weakly fleshed out here that it's perfectly fine to skip.

As season 1 has already taken place, these segments take us back to different points in time. We're not getting extra stories, but back stories from various segments we already watched - and did we fine with out them. Most of it wasn't funny. Most of it wasn't even interesting. Nor is there much romance either. Wait, isn't that what the entire series is based on? Yup. Most any reason you got into School Rumble is absent in this OVA. Sad to say but this is a waste of time to watch. Hell, I'd consider skipping it even if it were bundled with other stuff on a DVD.
