Sae is probably the main character of the show. She is an enthusiastic girl, although overly klutzy too. Sae is part of the magic club, partially because of her own interest in magic, and partially because of Takeo. Sae is actually in love with Takeo, although she believes that she only respects him. Sae also has an odd relationship with Jeff, who is an unknown magical entity. When she was a child, Jeff gave her a bear, which she also called Jeff. Sae's magic is probably the most powerful in the club, but her lack of self confidence limits her abilities.

Magic comes very easily to Akane, which is probably why she is interested in it. She does not however, show much interest in the magic club. She rarely (if ever) attends the meetings of the magic club. Akane is somewhat self absorbed. She spends her days going out on dates with guys that she is generally disinterested in. Akane also has a tendency to use magic for the wrong reasons. Her magic has the unusual byproduct of spinning whatever her magic is acting on.

Nanaka has been a friend of Sae since childhood. Nanaka doesn't much like the Magic club. In fact, probably the only reason that she's in it, is because of Sae, and Ayanojyo. She actually has a crush on her sempai Ayanojyo, but is unsure how he feels towards her. She believes Ayanojyo is only interested in Takeo, but she cannot help her feelings. Nanaka tries many times to get Sae (and herself) out of the magic club, but she always ends up going back. Nanaka has average skill and power when it comes to magic.

Takeo is the founder of the magic club. He has a lot of experience with magic, and tries to be a good sempai despite his feelings towards Sae, and his random ecchi thoughts. Takeo really likes Sae, but doesn't know how to tell her. Most of the time Takeo is on the defensive from Ayanojyo who is always making passes at him (and really scaring him). Takeo also has a certain problem with Miyama Mizuha who has tormented him since childhood, and continues to harass him as leader of the rival manga club. Takeo as the leader of the magic club is the most knowledgeable in magic.

Ayanojyo is probably the most complex character of the show, as well as the strangest. Ayanojyo openly flirts with Takeo who is also his friend. He also seems to get semi-jealous of girls getting Takeo's attention, although he's rather used to his friends strange wandering mind. It seems that once Ayanojyo learns of Nanaka's feelings, he starts to take notice of her. Exactly what he feels towards her is somewhat unclear, but perhaps he feels his heart drawn in two directions. Ayanojyo's magic is average in power, although he's uses it well, and is the most skilled when it comes to piloting a broom.
