One of Sana's favorite actresses is the beautiful and talented Asako Kurumi. Sana was rather excited to finally get a role with Asako, but then she noticed that Rei would mysteriously disappear whenever Asako was around. As it turns out Asako sort of left Rei to pursue an acting career. While Rei sort of faded away and disappeared, Asako did become a famous actress. Unfortunately Rei was already gone...

Just why is Rei in such an indecent relationship with Sana? Well after Rei was more or less dumped by Asako, he fell into some bad luck and ended up being homeless. It was Sana who found him and eventually invited him into their home. Being Sana's friend helped Rei to get out of his slump, and he's been grateful ever since. When Sana was little she asked Rei to be her boyfriend, and he agreed since he felt he owed it to her. He was then supposedly hired as her boyfriend, and Sana gave him her allowance every week (which he actually saved in a bank account for her).
