Mariko Kurata

Mariko is Sana's unusual mother. She's most noted for her extremely unusual hair style, in which a squirrel (Maro-chan) lives. Mariko is very insightful, and wise, although her insanity can often match the level Sana's. She is also an accomplished writer with many of her novels being best sellers. Mariko is often seen driving around the house in a mini-car, usually while avoiding people from her book's publishing company.

Maro chan

When Mariko was younger, she decided to have the most outrageous hairstyle possible. Well what could be more outrageous than having a squirrel live in your hair? Well Maro doesn't only live in Mariko's hair, he interacts with it, since it changes from day to day ranging from pyramids, to amusement parks, to water mill among some of the more usual ones.

Babbit

Babbit is the strange creature who is seen constantly in the show. It often makes commentary on what is going on (especially helpful with Sana's incoherent babbling), and sometimes talks to characters directly. Sometimes the characters acknowledge it's existence, sometimes not. Babbit is often seen bringing in the next scene of the show, but also makes a lot of appearances in buttons, logos or even certain gadgets.
