If you've seen Iczelion, your not going to learn anything new here. If you haven't seen Iczelion, don't let my crappy rendition of the story discurage you from watching it!
The story begins on a distant planet. The scenery is a technological metropolis. Once perhaps a thriving city, now a dismal wasteland. Everything is in ruins. Yet there is a flicker where a battle is taking place. A woman steps forward clad in armor. She is haggard from fighting, and her expression is dismal. She is the Iczelion.
Before her appears a figure: the being known as Cross , half of her face is a metallic plate. Cross smiles, enjoying what she considers a game. She tells the Iczelion that she is the last living being on the planet. The voids then attack. The Iczelion defends but her strength is diminishing and she is wounded. The Voids attack again, and this time the Iczelion is mortally wounded. The Iczelion gathers her strength and faces Cross. Before she dies she cries out that the Iczelion will never die, that they will be defeated by other Iczelions, and that there will someday be peace in the universe. Crosses laughter can be heard echoing though the ruined landscape. A short time later, Cross joins her brother Chaos and they watch as the planet is completely destroyed.
Back on Earth a girl is jogging home from school. Her name is Nagisa Kai, and her dream is to become a professional wrestler. Nagisa is forced to jog in place as she waits for a train crossing. Behind her appears the Iczelion suit, but no one notices. On the other side of the train crossing appears a menacing looking figure: a Gea. It raises its arm as the train rushes past. It uses its powers to tip the train towards Nagisa. Nagisa cries out and expects to be crushed, yet she is not.
Nagisa opens her eyes to see everything is distorted and blurred; she is in another dimension. Before her appears the Iczelion suit which introduces itself as Iczel. Nagisa is taken aback, not knowing what is happening. Iczel was forced to place her in another dimension in order to save her. Again the Gea appears, and prepares to attack. Iczel then forces the transformation by calling out "charging up". Its body flies apart. Each part becomes a piece of armor and clasps to Nagisa's body. Iczel and Nagisa become one: Iczel is now Nagisa's fighting suit and Nagisa is the Iczelion.
Nagisa is obviously surprised by merging with the Iczelion suit and a little dazed. The suit then telepathically communicates and attempts to get Nagisa to use her weapons. The Gea attacks and Nagisa evades. She then leaps behind the Gea and clasps her arms around its waist. She then preforms a backdrop which effectively destroys it. Nagisa is thrilled that she executed the move perfectly, but Iczel scolds her for using such a dangerous tactic. Nagisa starts yelling for the suit to stop talking in her head. She then realizes that they are no longer in the other dimension, and people are staring at her. The suit then flies away with Nagisa inside.
From a very distant location Chaos sits and watches. The game is becoming more interesting. Chaos smiles, as the Iczelion suit has led him to another planet to destroy: Earth. Cross then steps forward. She has selected a new target for her amusement, that she will hunt and eventually destroy. The target is Nagisa. Chaos tells Cross not to destroy her too quickly, but to take her apart piece by piece.
Meanwhile in the night, Nagisa sits atop a building in the city. She doesn't want any part of what's going on. Iczel tries to convince her that she must help to defend her planet by fighting as Iczelion. Nagisa then says that she is too busy. She has to do her homework after all. And, with stars in her eyes she also states that she must train to become a professional wrestler. Then a warp hole appears. Through it walks Cross. Nagisa is afraid, but the suit tells her to fight. Nagisa gathers her courage and knocks Cross down. She then tries to break her arm, but Cross merely laughs. She shakes her arm a little and everything is put back in place. Nagisa, now terrified screams. But other Iczelions will soon be on the way, but Geas have been sent to deal with them.
At a night club a dancer gets off of work. Her name is Nami. She encounters the Geas and transforms into an Iczelion and deals with them....
At a concert a young lady is singing a song of love. Her name is Kiiro. As the song ends she is transported into another dimension where Geas await. Kiiro is angry that the Geas interrupt her concert. The transforms into an Iczelion and destroys them...
As dusk settles across the city a girl walks home from school. An Iczelion suit appears and she transforms into an Iczelion...
Meanwhile Nagisa is terrified. Cross merely toys with Nagisa by shooting at her with weak energy bursts. Cross asks if all earthlings fight this way. She is answered, that "she should not underestimate the Earth". Cross looks over to see Nami, the Black Iczelion standing high on a fence. Cross is enraged that her amusement has been interrupted and the two exchange blows. Nagisa is taken away by Iczel as Cross is preoccupied. But Cross isn't preoccupied for long. Black Iczelion is transported into another dimension by Chaos so that Cross may continue her pursue Nagisa. Nami then does battle with a chaos Gea.
Nagisa now flies though the night in her Iczelion armor. She simply wants to go home. Then suddenly an orb appears and throws her into another dimension. Cross again appears and begins toying with Nagisa again. Iczel tries to get Nagisa to fight but to no avail. The suit uses a beam weapon that has no effect on Cross. Because Nagisa will not concentrate, she can not get a stronger beam. Eventually Nagisa's barrier gives away and she is thrown back. She cries out and separates with the suit. Iczel is surprised by this. Cross finds this to be quite amusing, yet Nagisa is still her target; wimpy human or not. Iczel tries to hold off Cross while Nagisa runs. Cross becomes angry and uses a powerful beam which throws Iczel back far enough to land in front of Nagisa. Iczel is damaged and weak, and Nagisa is defenseless. Cross decides to end the game and uses a powerful beam. Yet two streaks from either direction absorb the blast. When the smoke clears there stands two new Iczelions. Kiiro: Gold Iczelion, and Kawai: Silver Iczelion. Cross is astonished, she did not expect there to be other Iczelions. Then the Black Iczelion appears behind her. Cross is put at a disadvantage, but Chaos appears and interferes. He asks Cross if she would postpone her personal amusement and allow the Voids to fight the Iczelions. Cross agrees and the two disappear in a blinding flash. The dimension fades away and the Iczelions stand atop a grassy hill in the moonlight. The three Iczelions gloat over their driving Chaos and Cross away. Nagisa sits next to Iczel. She wonders: what will happen to her next?
It is a bright and sunny day. A great day, unless your stuck in school. Nagisa sits bored in class (how I can relate). She looks out a window (strikingly similar to the one that the Nagisa of "Fight! Iczer 1" looked out of before being attacked). She sees Iczel sitting on a tree branch watching her with a happy expression on its face. Nagisa sighs, and gets back to the world of classroom boredom. After school Nagisa walks out the front door. A blue eyed, brown haired girl, wearing a grey school uniform is waiting for her. It is Kawai. Kawai greets Nagisa. Nagisa pauses then recognizes Kawai as the Silver Iczelion.
Somewhere away from Earth an orb begins to glow a deep red within darkness. A figure stands up in the dim glow. The place illuminates. Chaos asks Cross where she is going. Cross is determined to seek out Nagisa, for she is the chosen target. Chaos tells Cross that he will be sending the Voids to deal with the other Iczelions. The Voids appear and await Chaos's command. His laughter can be heard echoing as Cross disappears.
Kawai attempts to convince Nagisa to fight as an Iczelion. Nagisa says that she is too afraid to fight such creatures. Kawai explains that she is also afraid, but she feels it is her duty to protect the most important thing of all: the Earth. Nagisa thinks that if the Iczelions hadn't come to Earth, that none of this would be happening.
High in the skies above the school the four Iczels sit and listen. They can't believe that Nagisa would say something like that. Black thinks that Normal Type has made a mistake by choosing Nagisa. Yet Iczel argues in her defense. Iczel is confident that Nagisa will fight. Gold then reminds Normal Type that it can't join perfectly with Nagisa and thus is underpowered. Black then also comments that Normal Type will probably be destroyed if it does not find a new partner. But Normal Type still believes in Nagisa. Black and Gold blink out to go about there business. Normal Type and Silver sit and watch to see if Nagisa will be convinced.
Kawai explains the story of the Iczelions. The Iczels were created by the Iczers. The Iczers not being able to keep up with the evil androids spreading throughout the universe, created the Iczels tho join with humans to form Iczelions to protect their own planets. Iczelions would have power equal to that of an Iczer. Kawai goes on to say that the Earth is now the target of Chaos & Cross, and must be protected. She thinks that it is better to fight and die than to do nothing at all. She, Nami, & Kirro are all proud to have been chosen. Nagisa is almost convinced, yet she can't bring herself to join the Iczelions because she is too afraid.
Then they hear a mechanical sound building. Faint at first, but crescendoing into a loud pounding. Kawai is then sucked into another dimension. As she falls the Silver Iczel appears and catches her. Kawai then merges with the suit to become Silver Iczelion.
Nagisa stands in the school yard frightened. Not surprising when someone you were just talking to gets sucked into another dimension. Then she hears something: an eerie metallic laughter. Nagisa runs only to have a Void appear in front of her. Iczel Normal Type appears in front of her. The Void quickly takes out the Iczel wich has little power since it has no person to synchronize with.
Then a new voice appears. The Void looks up to find the Gold Iczelion winking at it. Kiiro dodges a blast. She and the Void relocate to another dimension. Nagisa runs into the school not knowing where else to turn. The halls are dark. As she pauses to catch her breath, she sees a figure coming towards her. Nagisa is relieved that it is Nami. Than a Void appears behind Nagisa. She quickly runs (surprise, surprise). As Nagisa runs past, Nami asks how long Nagisa will continue to run. Nagisa pauses to think about it then runs off.
Black Iczelion turns to face the Void: the same Void that mortally wounded the Iczelion Normal Type before Nagisa. The two clash, and teleport into another dimension. The dimension looks like a graveyard. In fact it is a graveyard of all the combatants the Void has slain! Nami and the Void exchange blows but none turn the tide. Then the Void tries a new weapon: and enormous sword capable of creating tremendous shockwaves. Nami sees that she cannot win with a mere beam sword, so she channels all of her gravity power into it. The sword begins to shimmer and Nami attacks. The Voids sword cracks and breaks, and Nami finishes it off. A form of poetic justice that the Void should meet its demise in the graveyard of its victims.
Silver Iczelion meanwhile, is in a dimension that looks like a deep cavern within the Earth. The Void uses its arms, which have figures attached to the end to fire bolts of energy at Kawai. She dodges easily, but the Void then unleashes a storm of energy bolts. Kawai quickly fazes in and out of the dimension to avoid being hit. She then uses two boomerangs to destroy the Voids arms. As Kawai moves in to destroy the main body the Void becomes something that looks like a giant centipede, and traps Kawai in an electrical field. She cries out (cuz getting shocked doesn't feel so great). She gathers her strength to form a beam which cuts the Void in two. The resulting explosion destroys the Void but knocks Kawai unconscious.
Gold Iczelion faces a different Void. She gives it one last chance to run away. The Void fires an energy beam at Kiiro, but it has no effect. She then attacks the Void and defeats it. Only the remnants of the main body are left. Kiiro turns away thinking it's over, but a white foam begins to ooze out from its body. She turns to look only to see the foam form a giant arm which grabs her. The Void emerges in a new and larger form. Kiiro can't breathe as the powerful grip of the Void squeezes the breath from her. So she does the only thing that she can: she starts singing. The Void examines her more closely, but Kiiro rallies her strength through the singing and breaks free. She then uses a very powerful attack, and again appears to destroy it. But the Void comes back again, and even bigger this time (it's worse than the national debt!). The Void then transports them from the dimension to Earth and begins a rampage of destruction. Silver and Black Iczelions appear, and the three try to figure out a way to defeat the Void.
While the Iczelions were fighting the Voids, Nagisa continues to run. She pauses to regain her breath, and sees Cross through a window. None of the Iczelions can help her now. Cross chaises Nagisa, who runs into some more girls from her school. All of them run until they reach the roof of the school. Cross has Nagisa right where she wants her. Iczel appears and tries to protect Nagisa, but again without a person to draw energy from, it is weak. Cross quickly tosses the Iczel aside. Iczel comes to rest in front of Nagisa, no longer able to move or help. Cross laughs and begins hurting the girls; enjoying there fear. Nagisa looks out to the city as night falls. In the distance explosions can be seen as the Void wreaks destruction. She hears the cries of the other girls. Nagisa then recalls Kawai's words: "we must protect the most important thing of all". Nagisa stands up angry. She will run no longer. The Iczel feels her energy and the two of them truly synchronize. Nagisa becomes Iczelion. She quickly blinks in and out of view, to reappear in front of Cross. Nagisa punches Cross, who is knocked back by the blow. Cross is no longer laughing, and Nagisa is no longer afraid. Cross fires an energy beam at Nagisa, who dodges and drop kicks Cross. Cross then fires at the school girls but Nagisa jumps in the way and absorbs the blast and fires it back at Cross. Cross leaps high into the air. Nagisa moves so fast that it is as if she were a streak of light. Cross cannot keep up with Nagisa's immense speed. Nagisa then appears from behind and clasps her arms around Crosses waist. She then drives her head first into the ground. Nagisa then reappears away from the explosion of Cross's death. But a glowing ball emerges and flies away. It is Cross's spirit body.
Nagisa gives chaise only to follow it to the Void where it merges with it. She joins the other Iczelions who were trying to figure out how to stop the Void. Now an even bigger problem awaits, for the Void has grown yet again in size and power. Now the Void has a pale glow around it as it smashes buildings. The Iczelions surround the Void and concentrate their gravity energy on a single point. The Void begins to glow even brighter. The Iczelions release their energy. The Void reaches towards the sky before erupting into a blinding explosion of light.
Meanwhile Chaos has been watching. At first he is in disbelief that the Void, was destroyed and Cross killed. Then he smiles. He is thrilled that the Iczelions are so powerful and will make the game interesting. Then his expression changes again into one of anger. He orders all of the fighting Geas to attack.
Geas begin to fill the sky; a swarm of nightmarish monsters. Below on the school roof top the Iczelions watch, not overly concerned by a couple hundred Geas filling the sky. They figure that they should be dealt with fairly quickly. The Iczelions fly off. Nagisa bids the school girls farewell and begins to leave, but one of the girls calls out her name. Nagisa pauses and turns to reply:
Call me Iczelion.
No there is no Act 3....yet. Many people think that it is a stupid place for the story to end. But is the story over, I ask. I don't know, but it just doesn't seem like Hirano's style to end this way. Usually there is a big show down at the end. I believe that it is very likely that there will be an Act 3, or at least I hope there will be.
